I was discharged yesterday, so Tim and Evelyn dropped me off this morning and I stayed with Jimmy until about 330. This morning his oxygen saturation was at 21% (which is the same as room air-- what you and I breathe), so he graduated to a high-flow nasal cannula for oxygen. Which means we can see his face again! It's not obstructed by the C-PAP equipment.
We got to do some kangaroo care, which was much easier without the C-PAP on. He also lost one of the air tubes, so there's one less thing to tangle when we get him out.
When I took a break this afternoon, the nurses surprised me by putting him in his first outfit :) He's been holding his temperature well, so they turned down the temperature on his bed and put him in clothes. They also told me his feeds were increased from 10mL to 17mL. Which is great, because I would love for him to be able to lose his IV.
I took time to wash the preemie sized clothes everyone dropped off for him while I was in the hospital. I'm going to label them in the morning and take them in for him. I'm so happy he's doing so well:) We still have at least a couple of weeks ahead of us in the NICU, but he's making good progress :)
