4 Months

Today Evelyn is 4 months old:)
She is just fitting into her 6 month clothes, while some of her 3 month stuff still fits. She can get away with 3 month pants, but the sleepers are packed away and the onesies are a tight fit. 6 month sleepers are a little long on her yet, but at least she has some room to grow in them.
She made it through the giant box of size one diapers we ordered a month ago and is now into the size two's Jill gave us at the baby shower:)
She takes about 5-6 oz of formula per day, and we may start offering her some solids (cereals, mostly) depending on what the doctor says at her appointment on Tuesday. She mentioned last time starting solids around 4 months, and I've read that it can help manage reflux, so I guess we'll give it a shot. If Evelyn isn't interested, we'll wait a few more weeks. She seems to be gaining weight fine on the formula, so we have some wiggle room yet.
She is still sleeping in her rock-and-play at night, but she sleeps in her crib, cradle, or pack-n-play during the day so she can get used to sleeping on flat surfaces. Sometimes the only way we can get her to sleep flat is on her belly, so I try to keep her nearby...She sleeps for about 8-9 hours in her rock-n-play, has a bottle around 5 or 6am, then goes back to sleep for another few hours. But when she's napping somewhere flat, she's restless and doesn't sleep for long, so we're hesitant to try her overnight in the cradle or crib, which would mean sacrificing us all getting a solid night's sleep:P Also--I'm not sure I'm ready to let her sleep in a different room yet.
She spends a lot of time awake during the day, and enjoys laying on her playmat, looking around, or kicking and swatting at her toys. She has an indignant little yell that she lets out when she's bored or lonely, but doesn't do too much crying. She still likes lots of cuddling, but enjoys playing and talking just as much. She's trying to imitate our faces now, but sometimes she'll just look concerned when we make faces at her. She is tolerating tummy time very nicely, especially propped up on the boppy where she can see a little better. She's starting to roll over from her tummy to her back when she's sick of tummy time. And her hands are in her mouth ALL.THE.TIME.
