It has been POURING here, non-stop, since I woke up this morning. The retention basin keeps filling to the point of needing to drain thru the emergency drain, the creek is much wider than it was yesterday, and our basement is flooding. There's so much water and nowhere for it to go:(
The sump pump in the basement is still running, but can't keep up with all the water. The worst thing that could happen would be for the power to go out. We were throwing buckets full of water out the window, but all it did was exhaust us. We called the hardware store, but they're sold out of back up sump pumps. We event tried cyphoning water out with the garden hose, but couldn't get it going:P The rain isn't supposed to let up until like...7pm. And then it's just going to be intermittent until the weekend, when (hopefully) we'll finally get some sun!

| The stream behind the house. |
| I suppose we'll want to invest in some rain boots :-x |
| The retention basin--not the worst we've seen today. It was full enough at one point to drain through that grate. |
| The stream behind the neighbors' house where the bridge crossed. |
| Came back from our walk to some water in the basement. We kept up with it for awhile. |
| Jack--not worried about the water until it surrounded him in the middle of the room. (He got moved to the nursery for now). |
| Throwing buckets of water out the window in an attempt to help the sump pump keep up. |
| We gave up...the water was winning. The cat got moved. The sump pump is still pumping away...so it could be worse :-x |
Was supposed to go down to Mamaw & Papaw's today...but with the rain, flooding, and road closures...thought it would be best to wait until tomorrow. We don't need any more drama:-x
