And I'll leave you with this awesome picture Tim got of my reaction to the orange glucose test drink:
| It was gross. |
| I tried just throwing it to the back of my mouth, which helped, but not by a lot. |
So after chugging that gross orange drink that must be made by 5 year olds whose access to sugar is unlimited, getting my checkup, and checking out at the front desk, we wandered down to the lab to wait out the rest of our hour for the blood draw. The lady who did the blood draw was fast, but she was not gentle :-x She said it was good that I have nice veins. No kidding! The doctors will have my results by tomorrow, but they'll only call me if I failed and need to come back for the 3 hour test. I hope not--since that means I'd have to drink more of the orange stuff and fast for 8 hours beforehand.
After we were done with the doctor's visit, we went up to the outlets at Hershey and walked around to get some of the sugar out of my system. Then we went to a place called Fire Alley in Hershey for dinner. It was pretty cool:) They had candles on all the tables, the walls looked like storefronts, so it felt a little like we were eating outside on a city street (minus the noise and fumes), and the food was really good:) They even had tin trashcans with fake fires glowing in them.
So it's been a pretty good day:) Looking forward to many more happy years ahead:)
