25 Weeks!!

Today we are 25 weeks along!

Bean now measures about 13.5 inches from head to heel and weighs between 1.5 and 1.8 pounds (about the size of a rutabaga or large eggplant).  She is continuing to take practice "breaths" to get her lungs ready for breathing, and she's exchanging her long, lean look for some baby fat. She's now growing hair--and if we could see it, it would have color and texture. She's soaking up antibodies, which will prepare her immune system for the outside world, and her brain tissue and neurons are beginning to form simple pathways.
