Our second little one was born yesterday morning at 8:06 am via c-section, weighing in at 4 lbs 8 oz and measuring 18 inches long.
Meet James Oliver Rohrer:
The surgery went well and little Jimmy is resting well in the NICU. He had to be intubated, but can breathe on his own despite the tube. He is on an IV for fluids and antibiotics for now. He did start making messy diapers, so he can begin eating small amounts of milk now. We can't hold him yet, which is hard, but we can reach into the incubator to comfort him. Once he has had some time to adjust to the outside world, we can begin holding him. For now, we're letting him rest.
I am doing better today. My 24 hours of anti-seizure medicines are over. I've been able to get a shower and get up and moving around my room. I have been able to get to the NICU a couple of times today, but am mostly balancing my recovery/taking care of myself with making sure Jimmy has milk and getting meals myself. But we're both doing OK. Here are some pictures from our visit this morning:
Mom, Daniel, Emily, and Molly came to visit. Grabbed this photo of Molly while Dan & Em were meeting Jimmy:)
