Evelyn has been working very hard lately. She's decided that she is sick of her play mat and refuses to stay on it anymore. She will scoot herself right off it so she can roll 3/4 of the way from her back to her stomach (where she gets angry because she's apparently forgotten that she knows how to roll from her stomach to her back).
| Step one: Wiggle around uncontrollably until you find yourself on your side. |
| Step two: Get stuck. Suck on hands for 5 minutes. |
| Step three: Miraculously get an arm under you and push your head off the ground. Congratulations--You can now roll over! |
She's being fussier lately, as well. Mostly because she can only spend a few minutes in each position before she gets totally bored and needs to wiggle or be moved. And she lets us know when she's bored. With high-pitched and over-loud screams. She's also starting to fight naps. She'll rub her eyes and yawn, but when I try to get her to sleep, she kicks and screams and spits out pacifiers. We're hoping this is just a passing phase, but aren't holding our breath:P
I went out today and got a jumper for her, so she has somewhere to be upright when both Tim and I are upstairs. She loves it:) We also got a travel high chair--hoping that both the chair and the jumper will help keep her contained while we're on vacation in June, because if we take everything with us, we'll need a uhaul.
And we even took some time this evening to weed and cut off the daffodil stalks (finally), while Tim chopped up that dead tree next to the shed:

| She was perfectly content hanging out in her rocker:) |
| It was actually much cooler outside than in--our thermostadt is broken and we're waiting on a replacement...and we won't be able to turn on the AC until it gets here:( |
