Today was Evelyn's 2 month doctor's appointment. Tim had to work, so I took her alone. She behaved herself very well. I was sure she'd fuss and cry and otherwise draw attention and make it difficult for me to maneuver with her carseat and diaper bag on my own:P
But she did very nicely:) She furrowed her little brow throughout the weighing and the exams, but slept while I talked to the doctor and nurse.
She is now 7lbs, 12oz and 20.5 inches long. Her head is 15inchs around. The doctor is pleased with her weight gain and gave us the OK to switch to a normal formula. She also told me to look for her milestones based on her estimated due date, not her actual birthdate. (So if a baby who was born on time is expected to roll over at 3 months, we should look for it around 4 months.) And she doesn't need to see Evelyn again until she is 4 months old.
After the doctor left, the nurse came back to give Evelyn her immunizations. She got one for Rotovirus by mouth, then three shots (two in one leg and one in the other) that contained a total of 5 other immunizations. And she SCREAMED. She was NOT happy. Luckily, she calmed quickly and was asleep again once I had her dressed and buckled back into her carseat.
I fed her when we got home, then left her with Tim so I could run to Giant and refill her Zantac and pick up some baby Tylenol. When I came back, she was screaming her little head off :( Nothing we did seemed to calm her down, so we gave her a dose of the Tylenol and fed her another bottle. She went right back to sleep and was fine for the rest of the day. I'm glad she took it well, but I'm not looking forward to her 4 month appointment in April:-x
