16 Weeks!!

Today we are 16 weeks along and now into the 4th month:)

Bean is now about the size of an avocado and gearing up for a huge growth spurt! S/he currently weighs about 3.5 ounces and is about 4.5 inches long. In the next few weeks, Bean will double in weight and add inches to his/her length. Bean's legs are much more developed, his/her head is more erect, and eyes have moved to the front of the head. Ears are close to their final position as well. Eyebrows, eye lashes, and hair are starting to fill in and taste buds are forming. But the major developments this week are the tiny bones forming in Bean's ears--which means s/he can now hear sounds!! And if we had an ultrasound this week, we'd probably get a pretty good guess at whether Bean is a boy or a girl:)
