After we'd finished exploring, we went to Wendy's for lunch and then headed to the Kitchen Kettle Village in Intercourse. We spent the afternoon browsing in the shops, taste-testing jams and dips, and admiring all the quilts. The boys did skip out on the quilt admiration in favor of a knife shop, but who is surprised? At least they didn't come back with any machetes. One of the quilt shops had an impressive (although overpriced) fabric selection, and I got some pre-cut flannel squares for about $10 because they matched our couch:P I figured it would be an easy first quilt to lay out a pattern and stitch them together to make a throw blanket.
We also went to the Flower and Craft Warehouse in Blue Ball and wandered around a little. This is where were got the flowers for my wedding, but their selection has diminished and they've remodeled. There are fewer crafts and more enormous rooms just full of country primitives-type decorations for your house. We didn't stay too long:P
And after all that, I slept most of the way home. And until we were back in the apartment, I was ready for bed. at 6pm. And I was a major grump. Literally in tears because I couldn't think of a food that didn't make me nauseous, and I needed to eat dinner. We seriously ended up walking to the grocery store for Tostinos Pizza Rolls because they were the only thing I could think of that didn't make me gag:-x
We spend Sunday cleaning and trying to figure out mortgage application information. Yesterday, Tim ended up applying online to one lender to satisfy the paragraph of the Agreement of Sale that states we have to have completed at least one written mortgage application within 7 days of signing the agreement. And the lender we got our pre-approval from wanted us to come and do the application in person at her office in Wyomissing, which is over an hour away in the wrong direction, even though she already has all of our information. We have all kinds of messages out to people, and we're just waiting now for calls or emails back. So fingers crossed and prayers that this will all work out smoothly would be greatly appreciated!
It was fun seeing the house. It really is beautiful. I think it will be a great place to raise a family.
