Well, at least the world didn't end...

Harold Camping's declaration that yesterday was supposed to be the end of the world has been the butt of jokes for a couple of weeks now. And I had a good time at work on Friday chatting with people about it, since yesterday was the ONLY sunny day last week, and it looks like we're in for another week of thunderstorms and flash floods. My favorite joke at the expense of the Judgement Day folks was the morning weather report here in Philly on Friday morning:

In any case, we've made it through the weekend and, to my knowledge, everyone's still here (although no one has heard hide nor hair from Harold Camping).

I did wake up to a phone call from Mom yesterday morning (she tried to wait til I was up, but I still wasn't up at 10am, so my fault the call woke me up:P) and told me that Brother's girlfriend was in the hospital with a blood clot in her lung and would likely be there for the next 5 days. So I texted Brother and asked him for her room number so we could send her a card. We went about our day--did some cleaning, sorted out the clothes and put away the winter stuff, etc--and were on the way to the mall for some new sheets and lunch when I got a call from my step mother telling me my father was in the hospital with chest pain and some kind of blockage (turns out, he had a heart attack). I talked to him a little later and he sounded fine...they got rid of the blockage and the pain went away. They're basically keeping him for monitoring now. I also talked to Brother briefly, and he sounded OK. He called to ask if we'd told Dad about Bean, and I said not yet. He asked about my doctor appointment earlier this week and I assured him everything was fine with me and Bean. He still sounds so excited about the whole thing, despite everyone in the hospital. He's so sweet. And he's going to be the coolest uncle:)

We went to church this morning and listened to a sermon on what the end times will ACTUALLY look like and what the bible says about how we'll know when the end really is here (basically, it's going to sneak up on us--no one will know). Then we came home, had lunch, and have been lounging around ever since. We need to get a new list of houses to look at ready for the realtor, and we need to go back and check out that last house again with a new set of eyes or two. It's kind of growing on me:P Talked to Dad again today. He sounded better. He's sitting up and moving around a little now, but they're still keeping him in the ICU. I think he was hoping to go home today, but he said it doesn't sound likely. And it turns out Emily has pneumonia on top of everything else!

I think everyone will be happy when this week is over and the long weekend is here!
