So I got a new pattern, since I'd already cut up the previous one.
And I picked out some nice navy blue linen material. Nice and sturdy. And I got to work.
I cut out pieces, pinned them together, and even used lining and fusible interfacing for the first time. I was rather pleased with myself when the bodice actually turned out the correct shape.
Adding the skirt was a little frustrating because it has pockets and pleats, so there was a lot of basting and back stitching involved. But everything lined up well and I only had to sew that seam once :P
The pattern didn't call for it, but I used an invisible zipper. Uggghhhh. This took me four tries and 3 hours to get right. That's an entire nap spent on a zipper. I almost traded it in for buttons, I was so frustrated! But it worked out (fifth try is the charm?) and it only sticks a little :P And, except for the pull, it is, in fact, invisible.
I am very pleased with it :) I'm thinking of adding a little lace along the hem for decoration, but I think it's alright without. It's exactly what I'm looking for every time I go dress shopping. Something simple that covers my knees :P
My next challenge is a pair of socks. And a sweater for Evelyn. And maybe some skirts for over the summer:) I have a whole list.

Great job! Beautiful color and style!
