Last weekend we wandered down to the Target and found a little carpet shampooer on sale for $90. We had been considering getting one anyway, so we bought it and brought it home to clean our poor carpets, which have dealt with a lot of foot traffic, family parties, thrown baby food, and spit up (eeew) over the last year or so. We got it assembled and decided that the dining room would be a good first test (since it was the easiest room to clear out and had the most noticeable stains).

Much, much, much better. Some of the worst stains are still visible, but we're very happy with the results. I'm also coming to the conclusion that we need to move our meals into the kitchen until Evelyn stops throwing things off her tray :P
