Day 13

Bean's non-stress test went much better this morning. I think it will be mandatory for Tim to be present for all non-stress tests from now on, since they tend to go better when he's around. They put me on at 10 and we were done by 11:15. Still longer than I'd like, but definitely better than the 3 hours it took on Monday. It helped that the nurse I had today was way more attentive than the one who ran the test Monday.

Someone from food services came in and asked if there were any improvements they could make. I told her about things being ordered but not put on my tray, only getting chef specials (i.e. nothing that I ordered because my menu was lost and no one bothered to call up to my room had have me fill out another one), etc. She said she'd look into it. If they lose my menu again, I'm going to have to call that helpful little tipline listed on the menus and give them an earful. The food isn't that good...patients (especially long-term ones!!) should at least get what they ordered.

Mom is coming by tonight:) I'm excited, since she's bringing me chinese food! Tim is going to spend the evening at home, catching up on work and finishing the Christmas lights on the outside of the house. We're just doing icicle lights and net lights by the front porch. Once Christmas is over, we'll probably go to the store and snap up whatever is on clearance for next year:)

Last night, they brought a therapy dog to the floor for the long-term patients (me and the 2 other girls with preeclampsia that are stuck here until delivery), so I got to snuggle a sweet great dane for a little while. She had the prettiest fur--silver-grey with black spots.

The last test of the week will be an ultrasound tomorrow morning, probably just to check fluid levels and blood flow again.

19 days to go:)
