A couple of days ago, Tim and I saw one of the neighbor boys carrying a little lizard down the street by it's tail. It had all the kids' attention, and they were all over the place with it. Our assumption is that it passed away and they needed somewhere to bury it. They tried the end of the service road that runs between our house and the town houses, but we were working in the shed, so the shied away. Instead, we noticed them later messing around at the opposite end of our yard, along the edge of the woods.
And when we went later to inspect, this is what we found:
Those kids (the oldest couldn't have been over 8) not only buried their little lizard, but built it a cross and a fence. Luckily they planted it in moss, so we don't need to remove it to mow. I guess Tim is just going to have to weed whack around it if it starts to grow over:P
Now--why couldn't this little memorial been erected in their own yard, hmm?? I guess it's not the last pet memorial we'll see with all these kids running around :-x
Aww, you have your very own pet cemetery. Poor little kids-they did a nice job.
