Today we are 23 weeks along!!
Turn on the radio, sing a song, and dance along! Bean can now hear music and differentiate different types of movement. She is now about 11+ inches long and weighs a little over 1 lb, about the size of a papaya. Soon, we should be able to see some of her larger movements from the outside. Her lungs are getting prepared for breathing and the sounds she hears now are preparing her for life out in the world. Familiar sounds she hears now (like Daddy's alarm clock, doors closing, the oven timer) will likely not bother her once she arrives.
I have been feeling less energetic physically, but my mind is going a mile a minute with lists of things that need to get done. I finally got my OB records transferred to the new doctor, and they'll be calling to schedule later this week after their medical director can review them (apparently standard procedure for people coming in with prior OB care at 20+ weeks). We've been thinking more about names and have come up with a couple more that we like.
Slow progress is being made toward unpacking, and we're planning on moving Jack outdoors tomorrow, now that the ground is mostly dry and freshly mowed. I actually got a couple loads of laundry done today, since it was so nice out. The washing machine is a little leaky--Tim said he just needs some time to turn it over and take a look at it. But everything dried nicely in the sun:) And the basement is recovering nicely from the flood. We've been leaving a couple of fans and the dehumidifier going at all times to help it along, but cinder-block doesn't dry so fast :-/
This fall is already shaping up to be pretty busy with visiting family and friends, getting to Ship's homecoming, Elizabeth's wedding, Frank's Birthday, and an overnight trip to celebrate our third anniversary. In other words--I should have lots of pictures to post:)
Until tomorrow!
